Inside OpenPOWER Foundation

The OpenPOWER Foundation is an open source ecosystem community based around IBM’s POWER architecture.

It was founded to open the POWER architecture to give the industry the ability to innovate across the full hardware and software stack and enables collaborative development and opportunity for member differentiation and industry growth.

It’s members include some of the industry’s best known brands including Rackspace, Brocade, Google, NEC, Samsung, Hitachi and of course IBM.

We recently spoke with Dr Mandie Quartly, the European lead for IBM’s OpenPOWER Foundation global alliances team to find out more.

The 2nd annual OpenPOWER Summit: “Revolutionizing the Data Center” takes place between 5th – 8th April in San Jose, California. It features 50+ presentations from industry leaders and academia sharing their technical solutions and state of the art advancements.
